My keen interest in art has always been present from an early age however it was not until my latter years that I was able to pursue my passion for art. Having travelled extensively within Australia and to numerous parts of the world during my late teens until my early thirties, my passion for intense colour, diversity, exploration and subject matters was fuelled. I commenced initially as an oil painter but slowly progressed to incorporate the multiple mediums available. I consider myself basically self- taught but by attending numerous workshops over the years this allowed me glimpses into the endless possibilities of expression and taught me to develop using multiple mediums. I like to work with oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolour, water media, mixed media, inks, pen & pencils and even some sculpture. My art works are inspired by images, everyday scenes, and largely by my imagination which then leads to the choice of medium and mood.
As a member of Creative Arts Batemans Bay, South Coast Pastel Society, and Queanbeyan Art Society I have had the good fortune over the years to win many awards in judged exhibitions. My works are varied in both content and medium. My most recent awards were 3rd best member pastel prize in the National South Coast Pastel Open exhibition and 3rd in watercolour at Queanbeyan Art Society exhibition. I was honoured to be selected as one of the four 2018 feature artists at the QAS Charity Art Show City Walk, as well as featuring as guest solo artist on the QAS gallery wall. I have had both solo and combined art exhibitions locally and in ACT as well as my art showcased at the Batemans Bay Library. I enter works at various art shows locally and nationally. I have taught & also assisted in several pastel on canvas/multimedia workshops for local community, disability and cultural communities.
A small selection of my works hang in 2 business locally, however many of my works hang in private homes and collections in Australia as well as in UK, USA, Canada, Malaysia & Lithuania. My art profile can also be found on my personal facebook page, Google, several worldwide art websites , and the South Coast Pastel Society’s web and facebook pages.
