Suzanne Shelley

Having recently moved to Batemans Bay from Sydney it was great to find a thriving artist community in the Eurobodalla. I have been fortunate to have had work selected for Sculpture for Clyde (2018-2019) and the inaugural exhibition at the fabulous Basil Sellers Exhibition Centre, Moruya.

After 25 years of pursuing ceramics, printmaking, sculpture I gained my Master’s degree from UNSW in Cross-Disciplinary Art and Design in 2012 after a BVA Sydney University SCA, BA (arts) Curtin University of Technology.

Not being limited to one discipline has allowed for diverse experimentation in any medium.  I have found that by using wide-ranging materials and processes in unorthodox ways together with the element of 'chance' can lead to unexpected and surprising results. The finished work is often a stranger to, and sometimes very much at odds with what I felt, or wished to express when work began.

As a member of The Sculptors Society of NSW, Southern Printmakers and Firestation Print Studio I have exhibited nationally and internationally over the past 20 years.
